That's Right! Santa Came To Carney! |
|
During the Fourth Annual Carney Community Holiday Treelighting.....December 8, 2002 at 7 p.m. at the Carney Elementary School.
Highlights from last years event.....
Our event began at 7 p.m. with approximately 200 residents in attendance. After a stirring rendition of "God Bless the USA" and raising of the flag, we heard from Carney President, Chip Trageser; Councilman Bartenfelder; Concilman Gardina; Congressman Ehrlich; Delegate Klausmeier; Delegate Ports and Delegate Redmer.
The lighting of the tree was performed by a first grader from the school and we were visited by Santa, who arrived in his customized Santa van. Refreshments donated by: The Fenwick Bakery, Mars Supermarkets, Beverly Hochstedt Florist, Palmisano's Restaurant, The Bowman Restaurant, State Farm Agent Joseph Lawton, Sang's Carney Mobil, Poor Boy's Country Market and Cardinal Printing were delicious.
As usual, the membership of the association rolled up their sleeves and worked hard to bring this event to Carney. If it were not for folks like: Ken McDonald, Romi and Irene Shah, Chip and Joyce Trageser, Amy Rupp, Gregory Schmidt, Ryan Palardy, Joanne Krause, Meredeth Jessop, Shirley Briggeman, Ann Briggeman, Marilyn Ryan, Justin Wandres, Terry and Pat Sollenak, Karen Raffensbarger, Lenny Mink and the Bartenfelder Family, this event would never be able to be held. I thank you all and have a safe, wonderful holiday.
