Committee Reports:

A.            Membership:  Mike Rupp reported that he has gone through the membership list weeding out those who are no longer members and there are 110 current names on the list.    He is preparing new membership letters/renewals.

B.         Zoning:  President Trageser reported we have no new information on the Greenhouse project.  Regarding the Burton/Chatman Property (Magledt Road), there is a Development Plan Conference Meeting at 9 a.m. on September 25 and a Hearing Officer's Hearing at 9 a.m. on October 17; both at the County Courthouse.  President Trageser read a letter he received from the State Highway Administration regarding their decision to allow three entrances/exits from Wahlgreen's and also the reason that no intersection study was needed.  Delegate Al Redmer says there is an on-going communication problem with the State Highway Administration.

C.            Fundraising:  Drawing to be held later in the meeting.

Unfinished Business:

President Trageser reported there is a problem with some of the bricks at the Veterans Memorial and a new committee chairman is needed although most of the work has been accomplished.  There is a need to keep up the landscaping at the Memorial.

There will be a meeting on September 23, from 6-8 p.m., at the Parkville Senior Center with representatives from the Bureau of Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning to present the findings of the Joppa Road traffic study for the East Joppa Road corridor project.

A planning committee is needed for the Holiday Tree Lighting which is tentatively set for December 8.  Mike Rupp is preparing flyers, etc., for this event.

President Trageser reported on  our successful participation at the Parkville Fair which was held on September 8.  Our participation at the Perry Hall Fair last July was not as successful and he recommended that we not participate next year.

New Business:

Ruth Baisden, from the GPCC, reported on the County Council's meeting this summer on "Neighbor Space" and there is to be a public meeting on October 15.  She also reported on the community's concerns regarding Honda Heritage on Harford Road and their requests regarding signage and lighting.  The Traffic Department turned down Honda Heritage's request for a sign at the Beltway.

Marilyn Ryan reported the on-going zoning issues with the Escalante property and the People's Council involvement.

Justin Wandres again brought up the subject of the association petitioning the County for a light at Carney Elementary, like the one at St. Ursula's, which would operate while school is in session.
